Sungai Laut Villa is one of two beautiful traditional style rental villas that rest on the shores of a pristine black sand beach in the peaceful rural village of Pererenan, on Bali’s southwest coast, in Canggu. The larger main villa Sungai Tinggi comprises four bedrooms (plus two studies convertible to additional bedrooms), a glorious open-sided living and dining pavilion, and an 18-meter infinity edge pool. Its ‘little sister’ villa of Sungai Laut is bordered by both the beach and a small river estuary, enjoying unobstructed ocean views. This delightful joglo-style villa is entirely self-contained and boasts two bedrooms and a private plunge pool.

Sungai Laut looks out over a small mangrove lined river inlet onto a black-sand beach hence its name, which translates to ‘river sea.’ Its spacious, light filled interior, which incorporates two bedrooms and a large living room, is full of antique furniture and artifacts collected by the owners across the Indonesian archipelago. Wrap-around verandas cooled by sea breezes provide welcome shade and lead onto a coconut wood deck and plunge pool with jacuzzi.
