Villa Asli is one of a kind place where meticulous and thoughtful details fill you with aesthetics and utter tranquility. All of its architecture and decor are completely authentic while avoiding the sometimes gloomy look of traditional styles. Here, good old things play beautifully in modern language with a natural wildness. The sumptuously sized living space is a haven of absolute luxury and well-being, available to guests throughout the day. Breakfast, lunch, tea, aperitif, and dinner are served in the sumptuous dining room or private terrace, the beautiful kitchen bar or pool house, the majestic salon or bar counter.
With the keywords of luxury and relaxation, Villa Asri will complete the art of living and the art of hospitality. The main salon, dining room, bar, and TV room are three floating joglos surrounded by water lilies and giant carp. Brought from Java, these houses with huge and majestic carved ceiling structures are the traditional housing style of Javanese rural people. Over 100 years old, we use solid teak wood that is not available anymore. The know-how of our predecessors and the now lost quality and cut of wood made it possible to create true works of art of the time.
The beauty, color, and natural use of reclaimed wood in the roof structure, ceilings, and floors create a unique atmosphere and harmony.
These three inter-connected spaces with their vast dimensions are open on all sides, with no walls or enclosures, to maximize the enjoyment of the surrounding gardens and ponds, and benefit from completely natural ‘air conditioning’. You find yourself in the pampering comfort and convenience of luxury and modern technology yet in constant communion with the beautiful and wild natural landscape of Bali.
The 25-meter-long pool provides a wonderful place to swim and play games. Sun lovers will enjoy the king-size bed, and the “wise” can choose to enjoy the shelter of the pool house to share a glass of something nice, finish the latest novel, or take a siesta in the shade of the balés with their soft mattresses. Bali is the best capital for massage. Take advantage of this cultural heritage in one of the two bales by the pool, between softly billowing voile curtains and a fan, or upstairs in an air-conditioned room with sea views.
All the architectural materials, furnishings, and decorative objects in Villa Asli have been sourced painstakingly from across the 17,000 islands which form the Indonesian archipelago: different kinds of stone, petrified wood, carved teak, ironwood, lava, mother of pearl, totems and statuary, shields and spears, lanterns and chandeliers, necklaces and combs. These items brought directly from Java, Toraja, Sumatra, Sumba, Madura, Papua, and other islands. All the pieces are unique, chosen from antique dealers throughout Indonesia, or handmade to order by Balinese or Javanese craftsmen.
