Bedroom at Villa Mana

Villa Mana’s six very spacious, air-conditioned bedrooms feature high ceilings, walls of padded silk, polished-concrete floors, rattan and wood furniture, and sliding glass doors onto the gardens or terrace.  Five are furnished with king-size beds, while on the ground floor, opposite the games room/home cinema, is a twin-bedded room.  All have large ensuite bathrooms with twin basins of polished concrete and statement bathtubs big enough for two.

Master bedrooms

Two of Villa Mana’s master bedrooms are positioned at opposite ends of the upper floor for optimal privacy.  These huge rooms are accessed through Japanese-style sliding screen doors, their beds positioned towards a wall of glass doors opening onto the roof terrace.  Artfully concealed behind padded silk panels are the ensuite bathrooms, walk-in rain showers, and Japanese-influenced sure wood bathtubs overlooking the roof garden. Opening onto the pool terrace, below is the third master bedroom. Its elongated ensuite bathroom features a two-story river-stone wall towering towards the sky.

Guest bedrooms

Alongside the ground-floor master, there are two ensuite guest bedrooms, each with sliding glass doors onto the rear garden.  On the opposite side of the villa’s ground floor, a twin-bedded room is opening onto the pool terrace, slightly smaller than the other five and with a bathroom lying just across the passageway. Conveniently placed opposite the entertainment room, this makes a good kids’ bedroom.

Living Spaces at Villa Mana

Villa Mana is a party-giver’s dream. The huge open-plan living area spilling seamlessly onto the expanse of the pool terrace provides masses of space for formal or casual gatherings.  For candlelit dinners, a substantial teak dining table seats 12 guests in comfort.  Tucked around the corner on the poolside terrace is a breakfast table with benches also seating 12.  The well-stocked kitchen with its long island bar creating a stage for theatrical culinary feats is separated from the living area by a river-rock wall.

There’s further entertainment space upstairs on the enormous roof terrace:  a third dining table for 12, plenty of sun loungers, and, within a slatted-roof pergola, a series of super-sized mattresses for reclining in the shade. On this same level, you can escape from the sun into the comfortably furnished air-conditioned TV room/study – there’s a jumbo beanbag for serious sprawlers.  But the main entertainment hub is on the ground floor – a large air-conditioned room furnished with an oversized sofa and equipped with TV, DVD player, PlayStation, pool table, and shelves groaning with books, games, and toys.

Outside, sun loungers and daybeds surround the deck of the 17-meter swimming pool, and a double hammock is slung from an ancient frangipani tree – one of five that shade the sundeck.  Grand, amphitheater-style wooden steps beyond the pool lead past a comfy half-moon-shaped pergola tucked into the terrace slope, down to a large flat lawn bordered by rice fields and set up for football with goalposts in place.

Dining

Good food, effortlessly provided and gracefully served, is key to a relaxing and rewarding holiday experience.  The personal chef at Villa Mana is at your service to prepare daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The villa offers a simple suggestion menu of delicious home-style meals featuring Asian and international dishes to cater to all tastes. Favorite dishes include beef rendang, spicy fish in banana leaf, Gado-Gado, and barbecued lobster. The chef is also happy to discuss individual food preferences and customize meals to accommodate any special dietary requirements.

Groceries and beverages are charged at cost price, subject to service and tax at the prevailing rate. Guests will be requested to provide grocery money in advance to cover all in-villa food and drink, and the staff will do the shopping and keep the receipts for reference.   You are welcome to accompany the staff for a unique Asia market-shopping experience.

Families

Villa Mana is great for families, with a four-bedded bunk bedroom that is a hit with children and young adults alike. Kids will love splashing in the wading pool at the entrance and playing with the pool toys and inflatables in the shallow part of the main pool. The large lower lawn is perfect for kicking a ball around, though toddlers need to be supervised. And for rainy days (or respite from the midday sun), the villa is well-equipped with children’s DVDs, games, and books in the large air-conditioned entertainment room, which also has a PlayStation and pool table.

The friendly staff at Villa Mana will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the estate. (Full-time babysitting incurs a small extra charge.)

Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily do this for you – talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef, and they will take care of the rest.

And don’t worry about packing all that cumbersome kids’ equipment for your stay. Just let us know what you need; anything we don’t have in-house (villa facilities include two baby cots and a high chair), we can hire on your behalf.

Spa

BALINESE MASSAGE

Release built-up tension with a traditional Balinese massage.  Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure, and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen, and energy around your body, you will feel totally relaxed in no time. Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that reflexes in the feet correspond to every part of the body.  Through applying pressure on these reflexes, tension is relieved, and circulation improves, leaving you feeling balanced. Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve.  Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.
